We have a new tool in the box for analysing your herd data!
AllFlex has recently launched DataLive, a vet consultancy tool that streamlines data from their cow collars, allowing your vet to better analyse your herd data and engage with you about the information the collars are gathering.
AllFlex collars have had two different systems for farmers to use: DataFlow (previously HeatTime Pro), which is very customisable but tricky for a third party like your vet to access, or SenseHub, which is less customisable but easier to access via a cloud-based site. It takes a while to learn each system, its uses and limitations, and even longer to find, download and analyse the data.
DataLive simplifies things by bringing together data from herds using either of these systems and standardising it into various reports and key performance indicators, making it easier to review the performance of your farm. It can cover rumination (including daily minutes, variability, feeding consistency, transition rumination, and eating time), health (including alerts, trends, and heat stress), and mating (including number of heats, and number mated).
It enables comparisons between different groups on the same farm. For example, first lactation vs second lactation vs herd, or springers vs colostrums vs milkers. It can also show comparisons between separate farms.
It can produce summary reports on various topics, such as transition rumination, which looks at rumination and health events on a weekly basis over the transition period, and fertility, which looks at all aspects of fertility and benchmarks a farm's performance against all other AllFlex farms across New Zealand.
This tool will save your vet time finding key information and means they can give you more meaningful advice when you need it. If you are interested in signing up, talk to your KeyVet.
